Pz. IVs built

My current project for Bolt Action is a German Afrika Corp force for Tank War. So fat I’ve got these two Panzer IVs and a Tiger I (not pictured). There are a few more tanks on the way but I want to get these ones painted up before I build any more of them.

These two are the plastic kits from Warlord and I am very impressed. I have some older metal and resin tanks from Warlord and these plastic kits are a massive step up in quality. I plan to do a full review of the kit at a later date.

But tonight, back to LotR: Battle Companies!

Warband Basecoated

The starting warband has been based and basecoated. I went with basic sand for the bases, I’ll add some static grass as a final step. The models were primed black and then sprayed with Games Workshop Mournfang Brown. I’ve started the layering on the Wargs. Im doing Skrag Brown and then a final highlight of Deathclaw Brown. I’m not sure yet what I’ll do with the Hunter Orcs. Black and bone armor maybe.

Warband: Gundabad Hunters

I have chosen Gundabad Hunters as my warband for the Battle Companies campaign. I wanted to pick an evil warband and one that used the more recent Hobbit models. The starting warband consists of 2 Hunter Orcs, 2 Hunter Orcs with bows, 2 Hunter Orcs with two-handed weapons, and 2 Fell Wargs.

The objective is to get all the Hunter Orcs mounted on Fell Wargs and have lighting fast warband. We will see how it goes.

Next update: get these guys based and primed.

Lord of the Rings: Battle Companies

I am taking part in a Lord of the Rings: Battle Companies campaign and I cannot wait to get started. We are using the Battle Companies rules back put together by Erunion, you can find it over on The One Ring.

If you are interested in Lord of Rings at all, do yourself a favor and download these rules. There are tons of warbands and each has its own set of special rules and upgrades.

I’ll be posting my progress for hobby and gaming as the campaign gets going.
